      When do you update?

      We update every wednesday.

How long does it take to do each page?

Gina: Each page takes a couple hours to sketch, and then coloring time can range from 6 to 10 hours. It's a lot more work than you think!

Zach: The script for a page can take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour; the thing is, I have to go back and tweak stuff a lot, so it's non-discrete time. It's hard to say.

Do you put in cameos of family or friends? Can I be in your comic?

Gina: I've been asked this question a lot already, actually. I will be doing a few cameos, but I will be the one asking specific people for their permission.

      Zach: Nnnnnnnno.

What made you decide to do a webcomic?

Gina: This story has always been inside me, and Zach was the one who challenged me to put all of the pieces together and to actually make this little story in my head so much more. I've been through a lot in this past year and I have had a lot of down spots where I really didn't think I was going to make it. Starting Aegis was the one thing that has really kept me going and kept the drive in me to do this and to make it the best that I can. I have had my moments, but now that this comic is finally going, I feel like I can finally turn my life around. This comic is my new beginning. This is what's driving me to keep going, and I am happy to thank all of you for the support that you have been giving me so far.

Zach: I've wanted to do a webcomic for the better part of a decade; in fact, I did have one a long, long time ago called Wimply. Anyways, I'd been shopping my own script around, and through a friend knew that Gina had some art skills. I gave her my script and she didn't like it much, but then I noticed that she tended to draw the same few characters over and over. We got to discussing and I found out that she had this whole world in her head, but no stories. I knew then that I'd found exactly what I wanted: a template, an artist, and license to write.

      What artists influenced you?

Gina: I have a lot of respect for artists such as Celesse (Bottled Talent), Shilin (Ashen Ray) and Eiko-Chan (La Cosa Nostra) because they are all AMAZING artists and have created some fantastic comics. Their styles are something that I strive towards.

      When/Where does Aegis take place?

Zach: Present day, in an analogue of Chicago, in a world much like our own. I'll probably put more effort in being accurate rather than dramatic later on, but for now don't be surprised if alleyways and side streets aren't quite where they should be.

Who made the website, and how long did it take?

Zach: I did, and forever XD It's written in PHP5 using Zend Framework and Doctrine ORM; I gained familiarity using that combination of systems from my day job, and translated that into work on the backend for the website. I would say I've spent maybe 40, 50 hours on it so far -- Not a tremendous amount of time, but still nothing to scoff at. I'm always working on improving it, though, so if you have any suggestions or comments, please let me know!
